as the images unwind, like the circles that you find

Work ended at 12.30 today and now the office is closed until 3rd January. Whoo \o/ SO MANY DAYS OFF! I'm most excited. All the sleep, and reading books, and watching TV and eating chocolates, bring it to me.

I finished my main Yuletide fic really early this year so I accidentally scored and then wrote a pinch hit last night, which means that I'm a bit behind on everyone's Christmas card ficlets. But they'll be done for New Year, like I promised! Oh and if you'd like one, it's not too late.

I'm not impressed with LJ's shenanigans this week but I'm also not jumping ship to DW full-time either. Since I cross-post everything anyway, I've done my best to add everyone who's mentioned that they have a DW, but if I've missed you, drop me a line?

And now, a meme:

Your main fandom of the year?

The Social Network RPS although I have enjoyed The Avengers quite a lot, too.

Your favorite film watched this year?

I thought Captain America and X-Men: First Class were brilliant and Thor was a lot of fun. My Week With Marilyn was beautiful but, well, I'm going to be really predictable and say The King's Speech because it was a really cracking film.

Your favorite book read this year?

I haven't had a chance to read many books this year, but Sarah Rees Brennan's Demon's Surrender was excellent and a really great ending to the trilogy.

Your favorite album or song listened to this year?

I discovered Gaslight Anthem this year and their The '59 Sound album, especially, is great.

Your favorite TV show of the year?

Your best new TV discovery of the year?

Friday Night Lights! I'm not sure why I've never watched it before, but it's so great. Close runners up are The Good Wife and Vampire Diaries.

Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?

At the moment, I'm pretty disappointed about the Dr Who news that came out recently :(

Your TV fictional boyfriend?

Ladies and gentlemen, Mr Simon Amstell:

Your TV fictional girlfriend of the year?

Mrs Amy Pond forever and always.

Your biggest squee moment of the year?

Every single moment that Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone existed both separately and in combination. Also that time when I went to New York and hung out with harriet_vane and saw Jesse's face in real life.

The most missed of your old fandoms?

They weren't ever really one of my fandoms but man, I really do miss Fall Out Boy :(

The TV show you haven't tried yet but want to?

I'm a little bit interested in this Once Upon A Time thing that everyone keeps talking about, maybe.

Your biggest fan anticipations of the New Year?

The Avengers! New Sherlock! More REVENGE. Spiderman! And Sarah Rees Brennan has TWO new books out next year.
